Board of Directors 2026
Board of Directors 2026
Melissa Rolfes president
In my roles as psychotherapist, yoga teacher, and auricular acu-tech, I’ve had the privilege of working with many healthcare professionals who courageously and compassionately show up for their jobs despite feeling depleted and unsupported. They are the inspiration for Restoration Abbey.
Having spent most of my career in hospital and community health settings, I’ve personally experienced the toll of occupational burnout and moral injury. I’m thrilled to now bring together my expertise and training to offer much-needed restoration to those who dedicate their lives to helping others, and I am honored to be supported by this talented board of directors.
Zachary Hurt vice president
Hello! My name is Zachary Hurt, and I am so excited to be a part of the Restoration Abbey team! I began my nursing career in May 2020 (very close to the start of the pandemic), and, having worked on the front lines during the height of the COVID, I understand the mental, emotional and physical stress this has had on our first responders over the past few years. In addition to being a Nurse Practitioner, I am a licensed acupuncturist and naturopathic doctor, and I firmly believe that being grounded in holistic principles helped me through the most difficult parts of the past few years. Even with my extensive knowledge of stress management, I was not fully immune to the impact COVID played in tampering with my wellness. While I am a South Carolina native, I now call Roanoke my home with my partner Brent and our incredible pets Nicholas Bruce and Oden Flint. I am thrilled that Restoration Abbey has included me in their endeavor to bring overall wellbeing to our frontline workers!
Noah Guthrie treasurer
Hi, my name is Noah Guthrie. I grew up in the Roanoke area and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2007 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Currently I work for Burns & McDonnell, an architecture and engineering firm located in Roanoke. I live with my amazing partner Melissa and my two sons Tristan and Benjamin. My hobbies include hiking, kayaking, playing music, and disc golf. I’ve been on the Roanoke Disc Golf Club leadership team for 9 years (including 4 years as Club President). This has allowed me to gain experience managing a non-profit leadership board, work with corporate sponsors, and organize community events. I recognize the importance of mental health awareness and want to do my part in supporting the health care professionals in our community. I look forward to working with Restoration Abbey to provide these crucial wellness services across the Roanoke Valley!
